YEIDA Revamps LIG Housing: Larger Plots and Wider Eligibility Near Noida Airport

YEIDA has revised its LIG housing policy, increasing minimum plot sizes to 40sqm and raising the income eligibility limit to ₹8 lakh to support sustainable growth near the Yamuna Expressway.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced a significant update to its Lower Income Group (LIG) housing scheme, signaling a shift toward "livable" affordable housing.

Why the Change?Previously, the 30sqm plot size was found to be restrictive. Standard construction—including necessary staircases and ventilation—was difficult to achieve on such a small footprint. By increasing the size to 40sqm, YEIDA ensures that all future constructions meet structural safety norms and provide a better quality of life.

Who is Eligible?Recognizing the economic shifts in the region, the income cap has been raised from ₹3 lakh to ₹8 lakh annually. This allows middle-tier industrial workers and private-sector employees to access formal housing, keeping them away from unauthorized colonies.

Plot Distribution:

Located in the heart of the Yamuna Expressway development corridor, these plots offer proximity to the Noida International Airport and major logistics hubs, making this one of the most anticipated affordable housing moves of the year.
