YEIDA has restarted the long-delayed construction of 36 km of service lanes on both sides of the Yamuna Expressway. Once completed, these corridors will offer direct, faster, and alternative access routes to the upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar) — improving logistics, reducing congestion, and enhancing connectivity for industrial, residential, and institutional hubs along the expressway.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has resumed long-pending construction on the 36 km stretch of service lanes running parallel to both sides of the Yamuna Expressway.
These lanes will connect Greater Noida to Jewar, the site of the Noida International Airport (NIA), which is expected to start partial operations by the end of this year.
YEIDA’s renewed push comes after resolving multiple land acquisition disputes that had stalled the project for years. Now, with approvals and clearances in place, construction has restarted at three crucial locations — Rustampur, Dankaur (500 m stretch), and Dayanatpur (2 km section) — where work was stuck for over a decade.
YEIDA CEO R.K. Singh stated that the service lanes are being developed as alternate access corridors to the Noida International Airport.
“The goal is to ensure last-mile connectivity before the airport becomes operational later this year. Once the roadwork is complete, residents, airport users, and logistics operators will have multiple access routes,”
— R.K. Singh, CEO, YEIDA
Currently, most airport-bound traffic relies solely on the main Yamuna Expressway, which poses a risk of congestion once the airport opens. The parallel service lanes will not only distribute traffic but also create local entry and exit points to developing YEIDA sectors — improving accessibility for residents, industrial units, and transport operators.
YEIDA’s service lane project is not just about airport access — it’s part of a larger regional transport grid linking Uttar Pradesh’s new economic corridors.
The ongoing 36 km project includes:
YEIDA has also initiated a technical survey of the existing 30-metre-wide service road between Greater Noida and Jewar.
Once the survey report identifies gaps, encroachments, and damaged stretches, repair and widening work will begin immediately.
The authority aims to create a continuous corridor from Pari Chowk (Greater Noida) to Jewar Airport, integrating all adjoining link roads.
The service lane development is expected to have direct multiplier effects across sectors:
This initiative aligns with YEIDA’s Vision 2041 Master Plan, which focuses on:
The Jewar Airport region is projected to attract ₹80,000 crore+ in investments across aviation, logistics, hospitality, and manufacturing sectors over the next decade. Robust road infrastructure is central to realizing that potential.
YEIDA’s renewed push to complete the 36 km service lanes marks a turning point in the region’s infrastructure readiness.
By ensuring multiple access routes to the Noida International Airport, the project will not only ease traffic and boost logistics efficiency but also elevate the region’s real estate and industrial value.
What was once stalled by disputes is now transforming into one of North India’s most promising development corridors — connecting Greater Noida to the world through Jewar Airport.
