This development focuses on a vital 34-kilometer stretch of National Highway 727B, specifically connecting Sikandarpur to Ballia. While currently a congested two-lane road, its upgrade into a modern four-lane corridor is set to unlock the economic potential of the Purvanchal region and provide much-needed relief to thousands of daily commuters.
For years, the journey between Sikandarpur and Ballia has been a bottleneck for local residents and commercial transporters. Despite ongoing four-lane work on the Nawalpur to Sikandarpur segment, the final leg of the journey into Ballia remained narrow and prone to heavy congestion. The official green light for this project comes after persistent advocacy from regional representatives who highlighted the safety risks and economic delays caused by the existing infrastructure. With the approval now finalized, the focus shifts to the immediate commencement of detailed project reports (DPR) and land surveys.
The significance of this highway extends far beyond a 34-kilometer strip of asphalt. It serves as a strategic link connecting three major districts: Ballia, Deoria, and Gorakhpur. Currently, the 34-kilometer trip can take upwards of two hours due to narrow lanes and frequent traffic jams. Once completed, the four-lane highway and its accompanying bypasses will significantly slash travel time, allowing vehicles to maintain consistent speeds while improving overall road safety.
