The Noida Metro Aqua Line, currently running between Sector 51 (Noida) and Depot Station (Greater Noida), is operated by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). Since its launch in 2019, it has served as a vital north-south link between Noida and Greater Noida but lacked a direct interchange with the Delhi Metro Blue Line, which ends at Sector 52.

To improve connectivity and support upcoming residential and institutional zones, NMRC has cleared an extension plan from Sector 61 to Knowledge Park V. This marks the first major expansion of the Aqua Line since its inauguration.
The Sector 61 station will act as a major interchange hub, allowing smooth transfer between the Aqua Line and the Delhi Metro Blue Line via the existing Skywalk link to Sector 52. This interchange will finally offer direct, single-corridor travel between key residential hubs of Noida Extension, Knowledge Park, and Delhi.
The Aqua Line currently carries about 40,000 daily passengers, with ridership expected to triple after the extension. The project aligns with Gautam Buddha Nagar’s 2031 Mobility Plan and complements infrastructure like the Noida International Airport (Jewar) and YEIDA Expressway corridors, creating a seamless metro-connected real-estate zone across NCR.
Officials expect the corridor to trigger new residential and commercial developments along the Greater Noida West Tech Belt, boosting property values and easing congestion on main roads such as the Pari Chowk – Noida Expressway stretch.
