The Centre has approved a 30-km expressway connecting Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Jewar Airport. Learn how this new corridor will ease congestion and boost NCR development.

In a major boost to connectivity and infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Central Government has officially approved a 30-kilometer expressway linking Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the upcoming Jewar International Airport.
The project aims to decongest existing traffic corridors and provide a direct, high-speed route to India’s largest greenfield airport project.
Proposed by Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma and supported by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, this expressway marks one of the most significant expansions of NCR’s transport network in recent years.
The upcoming expressway will run parallel to the existing Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, connecting Pashta Road with both the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway.
This new alignment will act as a riverside expressway, providing smoother and faster movement between Delhi and the Noida International Airport (Jewar) — a distance currently plagued by bottlenecks and long travel times.
Once completed, the expressway will enable seamless travel from Delhi to Jewar in under 40 minutes, revolutionizing accessibility for business travelers, logistics companies, and residents alike.
The project received its strongest endorsement from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who confirmed that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will lead the construction and management of the expressway.
Gadkari assured that funding will not be a problem, citing the project’s inclusion under the Centre’s ongoing ₹1.2 lakh crore infrastructure expansion program for Delhi–NCR — half of which has already been completed.
He further revealed plans for an additional ₹40,000–₹50,000 crore worth of upcoming infrastructure investments across NCR, spanning expressways, logistics hubs, and mobility corridors.
This commitment reflects the government’s broader push to position NCR as India’s best-connected economic and logistics region.
The Noida Authority granted principal approval for the new expressway in March 2025, following a detailed route study.
Implementation will be handled by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which will oversee technical execution and coordinate funding among three key agencies:
This tripartite cost-sharing model is expected to streamline project delivery and ensure equitable development benefits for all adjoining regions.
The Noida International Airport, currently under construction at Jewar, is designed to handle 70 million passengers per year by 2040, making it one of Asia’s largest aviation hubs.
For such scale, multi-modal connectivity is essential — and this new 30-km expressway is a cornerstone of that vision.
Along with the proposed metro extension, Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) link, and Yamuna Expressway, this new route will make Jewar a truly integrated air–road–rail hub, capable of supporting massive economic activity in logistics, aviation services, real estate, and manufacturing.
The new expressway is expected to transform property dynamics across Noida, Greater Noida, and YEIDA zones.
Areas like Sector 150–168, Greater Noida West, and YEIDA Sectors 18–22 are projected to witness rapid growth due to enhanced accessibility and investor interest.
For industries, the expressway opens direct access to the airport’s cargo facilities, warehousing zones, and upcoming logistics parks — creating a high-efficiency trade corridor between Delhi’s manufacturing clusters and Uttar Pradesh’s industrial expansion belt.
Beyond connectivity, the expressway will also contribute to decongesting the existing Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, which has seen heavy daily traffic due to rapid urbanization.
The new route is being planned as a green corridor, incorporating eco-friendly landscaping and sustainable design, consistent with the government’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative launched at the Jewar Airport site.
The Delhi–Noida–Jewar Expressway is not just another highway — it’s a strategic link that will redefine mobility and development across NCR.
By connecting key business districts directly to India’s largest upcoming airport, it ensures that Noida’s southern corridor becomes the next engine of real estate, logistics, and industrial growth.
With central funding secured, NHAI at the helm, and coordinated support from state authorities, the project stands as a powerful example of infrastructure-led urban transformation.
